Blackfish Bison Ranch provides guided tours of our buffalo herd. We transport you by pickup or wagon to our buffalo where you can feed them by hand. Tours last approximately 1 hour. Bus tours are welcome and have easy access. Reservations are required. Extended tours available upon request. On your tour you will have the chance to throw a tomahawk, in addition, kids will also enjoy the activity of tossing a lasso at the hay bale steer head. You will also have the chance to sample pure buffalo meat. We focus on the historical and spiritual relationship which existed between buffalo and Native Americans. A Lakota Sioux “smudge” feather ceremony is a part of each tour. Blackfish Bison Ranch is located on 242 acres of rolling hills with historical views such as Lower Howard’s Creek. Much of the surrounding farmland was hunting grounds among the Shawnee Tribe and others. The name of our ranch is in honor of Chief Blackfish, which was the leader of the Shawnee Indians, as well as historical Buffalo trace of the past. Come and listen and share your historical facts at the ranch.
