Laura's Mercantile Products

Explore the countryside at Mt. Folly Farms, an official Kentucky Landmark. Come see our organic crop pastures and farm animals. Enjoy hiking, birding, and biking around the property. Our historic cabin sits on more than 1000 acres of Kentucky’s rolling pastures, which has been owned and operated by the by Laura’s family since the 1820’s. Mt. Folly Farms is the proud winner of the 2018 Preservation Award, presented by the Winchester Historic Preservation Commission and the Clark County-Winchester Heritage Commission.

Laura Freeman, founder of Laura’s Lean Beef, provided antibiotic and hormone-free beef to millions of Americans. Now, she’s introduced Laura’s Mercantile, selling Laura’s Hemp Chocolates, Homestead Alternatives Hemp Tincture, heritage grains from Mt. Folly, and other regional specialties.

The cabin consists of 2 bedrooms, one a master, and one a “bunk” room with a fine double bed and twin, 2 full baths, a family room with fold-out couch, kitchen, pantry, dining room, mud room and three-season porch overlooking goat hollow. The cabin is furnished with antique pieces that match the history of the cabin. It has a new air conditioning and heating system, both electric. Solar panels installed on the roof feed into the grid and offset electricity used. Guests have free run of the property, and in dry weather can rent a golf cart to motor down the farm road, which is 3 miles long. The farm road makes for a splendid morning run or walk, and we have two mountain bikes available for guests at no charge.

The cabin is available for rent Thursday-Sunday for bookings. Click on the Airbnb link at top of page to book your stay.
