9th Annual Beer Cheese Festival @ Main Street in Downtown Winchester KY
Jun 10 @ 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
9th Annual Beer Cheese Festival @ Main Street in Downtown Winchester KY | Winchester | Kentucky | United States

Ask almost anyone what the best part of the Beer Cheese Festival is, and they’ll tell you, “Sampling beer cheese!” and they’re right. We start at 10am and go all the way to 5pm. You can sample beer cheese from any of our vendors. Sample them all. Find your favorite. Cast your vote. You can even purchase beer cheese right from the vendors. When you need a break, there are plenty of other things to do at the festival–listen to live music, drink from the beer garden, visit arts & crafts or Kentucky Proud booths…and then you can head right back into the beer cheese section, and try some more, because at the end of the day it’s all about the beer cheese!

“A Gathering of Descendants” @ Fort Boonesborough State Park
Jun 17 all-day
“A Gathering of Descendants” @ Fort Boonesborough State Park | Richmond | Kentucky | United States

Fort Boonesborough “A Gathering of Descendants”-

Fort Boonesborough will have a weekend that we hope will remind folks of what homecomings and family reunions are about, with a bit of a twist! We want to welcome everyone who had ancestors who came to Fort Boonesborough in the 18th century and played a part in the early settlement of Kentucky. We will have resources and information available about many of the folks who were here in those early days, ideas of where to find genealogical information, museum exhibits of artifacts from the original fort site, authors on hand to sign books about early days of the fort, the people, and surrounding areas, and ongoing historical interpretation of the daily lives, chores, skills and trades of those who came here during that time. Representatives from the Dr. Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History, The Filson Club, Eastern Kentucky Library and Archives, and some local Historical Societies will be on here to assist with information on Genealogy, early Kentucky cemeteries, early Madison county Family History, and more. This event is free with regular paid admission to the fort.  Please contact Bill Farmer at (859) 527-3131 or [email protected]
